The radiology institute of the clinic Avicenne offers you high quality services and skills and benefits from the latest generation of equipment for carrying out radiological examinations prescribed by your attending physician.

Our radiologists perform radiological examinations in order to make a desired diagnosis. The radiologist is qualified to judge the usefulness of prescribed examinations and often discusses with prescribing physicians in order to deal with each situation adequately and to avoid unnecessary examinations. Close collaboration between the radiologist and other specialists from different fields of medicine (gynecology, urology, pneumology or even senology) is an essential element in establishing an optimal care plan for the patient.

On the basis of a medical prescription or an examination order prescribed by the attending physician, the radiological examination is carried out by our qualified staff in a dedicated space where generally several images will be generated and to be transmitted radiologist thereafter. The latter interprets the result obtained and participates in collaboration with the prescribing physician in the development of the appropriate treatment plan for the patient.

The Avicenne Institute of Radiology has state-of-the-art medical imaging equipment and offers many diagnostic radiology examination techniques such as:

    • CT-Scanner
    • Digital radiography
    • Ultrasound, doppler
    • Digital mammography with tomosynthesis

These procedures are all carried out on an outpatient basis, that is, the patient leaves the department the same day as the examination. No hospitalization is necessary.

Recommendations and preparation for the radiology examination

In order to help us always better taking care of you and offer you fast and optimal care, we have prepared a list of recommendations and important information that will allow you to better prepare for your radiological examination and ensure the best possible conditions during your visit of the Avicenne radiology institute.

Preparation for the examination:

In order to ensure the smooth running of the radiological examination, it is important to follow the following recommendations:

    • Do not forget to take an identity document with you as well as all the documents provided by your doctor
    • Some exams require preparation or in some cases just fasting
    • You will be asked to complete a questionnaire in order to ensure the smooth running and safety of your care
    • If possible, please bring results and images of previous examinations
    • Please feel free to ask us any questions you deem important.

Don’t forget to let us know of:

    • Any eventuality of pregnancy
    • Any known allergy
    • Any current medical treatment and medicines you are taking or have recently taken
    • If you have kidney failure

The examination:

    • Make an appointment either by phone on 031 000000, or by issuing an examination order from an internal prescribing doctor at the clinic Avicenne, preferably 48 hours in advance,
    • Presentation at the reception of the radiology institute, located on the ground floor of the clinic Avicenne,
    • Admission and assistance of the patient by a health professional to radiological examination room
    • The images generated during the examination are studied by the radiologist and an examination report is issued
    • The images as well as the examination report are sent to the prescribing physician if possible. A copy, on CD or in cliché format, according to your wishes, is also available on request.
    • At the end of the exam, you will be given an access code to your file and your images via the internet. You can thus consult the results of your exam anonymously on your smartphone or electronic tablet or any other computer support.

The waiting time required for all steps of the examination can vary from 15 min to 1 hour depending on the type of examination requested and the request for radiological examinations submitted at that time. Some exams, such as a CT scan or digital mammography, require specific computer processing and therefore require more time than a simple ultrasound. During times of great influx, this waiting period may be exceeded.

At the Avicenne Institute of Radiology, your care is entrusted to a multi-disciplinary team that provides you with quick and efficient care. Our competent staff is always available and attentive to your needs with a permanent concern for quality.
