ADMISSION

Your stay will begin with your announcement at the reception of the clinic Avicenne on the date previously scheduled. A member of the reception service will receive you and assist you in completing the administrative procedures. Once your administrative file is complete and your registration has been validated, you will be admitted to the clinic under the responsibility of one of our doctors who will remain in contact with your attending physician at all times.

NON SCHEDULED ADMISSION

In the case of an unscheduled admission and with the agreement of the doctor with whom you referred, you can be admitted at any time, day or night, without the need for prior administrative formalities.

IDENTIFICATION AND SECURITY

Throughout your stay, you will be identified with the data entered on your identity document. An identification bracelet bearing your name will be given to you upon admission and will be used throughout your stay for security reasons. An additional check will be carried out by our nursing staff when you enter the operating room.

PERSONALIZED CARE AND ASSISTANCE THROUGHOUT YOUR JOURNEY

You will be taken care of by our healthcare team who will guide you to your room. Our staff will provide you with all the necessary explanations concerning your safety, your comfort and your preparation for the surgery. Our nursing staff will listen to your individual needs and provide you with the best advice and support throughout your stay. A multidisciplinary team available 24 hours a day will ensure the safety and organization of individual care.

MEDICINES / DRUGS

For safety and traceability reasons, we ask that you bring with you any medications you are currently taking, if possible in their original packaging, along with your current medical treatment plan. Throughout your hospitalization, the nursing staff will be responsible for providing you with the medications to be administered.

YOUR ROOM

We have rooms with one or two beds all equipped with a bathroom, secure wardrobe and a safe. However, we recommend that you do not bring valuables with you or, if applicable, leave them in the safe. The clinic declines all responsibility in the case of any loss of a personal object left unattended. In addition, all our rooms have a harmonious decoration, a comfortable electric bed and a flat screen TV.

CATERING

The menus at the clinic Avicenne are designed by our dietitian in collaboration with our experienced chef to offer you balanced meals adapted to your state of health. Breakfast is served from 8 a.m., lunch after 12 p.m. and dinner around 7 p.m. Outside of meals and in the evening, we provide you with mineral water, coffee, tea or herbal tea. Alcoholic beverages are prohibited throughout the property. You also have the possibility of placing an order at any time of the day by simply asking one of our assistants. You can also share a meal in your room with one of the visitors if the latter wishes.

VISIT OF THE DOCTOR

The doctor usually visits you once a day. He answers your questions and plans the rest of your care in collaboration with the nursing staff.

ABSENCE OF YOUR ROOM

If you have to leave your room for any reason, don’t forget to tell the nursing staff. Only the doctor can authorize your discharge outside the establishment. Any unauthorized exit outside the clinic is your sole responsibility.

INTERNET CONNECTION

A wireless internet connection WIFI is available within the clinic.

TOBACCO / E-CIGARETTE

We inform you that our institution is a non-smoking area. Smoking is strictly prohibited within the clinic. The clinic Avicenne declines all responsibility in the case of non-compliance. A smoking area is dedicated for this purpose next to the cafeteria on the 1st floor. Depending on medical prescription, it is possible to have nicotine substitutes.

FIRE DETECTION

Each room and the entire clinic is equipped with a smoke detector. It is forbidden to light a candle or any other source of heat.

ANIMALS

Animals are not allowed inside the clinic.

PARKING

Parking spaces are available at the clinic.

CAFETERIA

You can enjoy a snack or read a newspaper in the clinic cafeteria.

FLOWERS AND PLANT IN A POT

Only cut flowers are allowed in the rooms for hygiene reasons. Please note, no plant is allowed in intensive care.

CONDUCT OF THE SURGICAL PROCEDURE

Before your surgery, you will be notified of the date and time in advance and you have a visit of your doctor. It is possible that changes in the schedule may take place in unforeseen emergencies. We ask that you arrive on an empty stomach and stop eating, drinking and smoking at least 6 hours in advance. You can only take your medicine if your doctor tells you to.

On the day of the operation, you should not wear makeup, nail polish or false angles and jewelry. You are also asked to remove your contact lenses, dentures, hearing aids, as well as piercings and wigs.

When you are admitted to the operating room, the nursing staff carry out additional checks before the operation. Three types of anesthesia are possible depending on the choice of the anesthetist: general anesthesia which involves loss of consciousness with complete insensitivity during the operation, spinal (or epidural) anesthesia which consists of overpressure of the sensitivity and motor skills of a lower region of the body, or locoregional anesthesia that eliminates tenderness in the area of ​​the body that needs to be operated on.

Once the operation is completed, you will first be transported to the recovery area or intensive care unit for post-operative care. Our nursing staff will constantly monitor the evolution of your state of health during this stage. The return to your room will depend on the decision of your anesthesiologist and the surgeon. The latter will come to your room afterwards to inform you of the result of the operation.
